Executed with academic realism combined with soft romantic lighting. The composition features rich, warm, flesh tones, expressive brushwork in the blue head wrap and red drapery plus a live engaging facial expression typical of Forlenza’s style.Although, the original19th C composition has suffered minor damage the overall condition is very good and exhibits appropriate craquelure, surface oxidation, natural varnish aging plus period correct canvas and stretchers. The brushwork and pigment application align fully with a painting of this period.
